Jerusalem hosting world authors

From May 1-11, Jerusalem's Mishkenot Sha'ananim will host its first International Writers Festival, and some very famous local and visiting authors will take part in the reading sessions, seminars, workshops, discussions, lectures, debates and more. There will also be tours, showings of works adapted for the screen and concerts. Local participating writers include Aharon Appelfeld, David Grossman, Yehudit Katzir, Etgar Keret, Sami Michael, Amos Oz and A.B. Yehoshua. Among guests from abroad will be Russell Banks (US), Nadine Gordimer (South Africa), Lidia Jorge (Portugal), Andrei Makine (France), Ingo Schulze (Germany) and Niall Williams (Ireland). Events will take place mostly at Mishkenot Sha'ananim, the Khan Theater, the Cinematheque and the Train Theater.
