A Succot full of hot air

Just in time for Succot, some of the world's most impressive hot air balloons will be arriving here in Israel.

They've traveled to England, Spain, America, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, Morocco, the Philippines, Egypt, Brazil, Zanzibar, Bolivia, Greenland, Alaska, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and India. And now, just in time for Succot, some of the world's most impressive hot air balloons will be arriving here in Israel. The traveling festival of hot air balloons will arrive in Yotvata, Israel on September 30 and remain until October 2. The 13 balloons, which have already traveled thousands of miles, will park in the skies overlooking the desert between Nahal Menagen and Park Timna. Every morning the balloons will take off around 5 a.m. in Nahal Menagen, and at 5 p.m. they will participate in a light and fire festival at Park Timna. On the ground, family activities, food stalls, and more will be available between 5-9 p.m. Tickets to watch take-off cost NIS 10. The big evening events are priced at NIS 49 for children and NIS 59 for adults. A 50% discount is available for those participating in the sale on the Yotvata Web site. The festival is sponsored by the Yotvata Dairy company and the Fattal Hotel chain.
