Actress Gila Almagor and her husband, producer Ya'akov Agmon have been invited to participate in the 11th Shanghai and 10th Taipei International Film Festivals to be held this June and July.
The Shanghai festival, the largest of its kind in Asia, takes place from June 14-22. Almagor will sit on the international jury panel to be headed by Academy Award-winning director Anthony Minghella. Some 17 international feature films will be competing for the Jin Jue Award, and there are scores of other programs.
At Taipei in Taiwan, Almagor and Agmon will be guests of the festival from June 20 to July 6. The program has some 120 films from 40 nations, including a retrospective of Almagor's prolific and prize-winning screen career. This is the third time that Almagor has been invited to China.
