Israel will publicly mark International Human Rights Day a day before the rest of the world this year at Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Center. The December 9 event will feature booths highlighting human rights issues and activism opportunities around the world, accompanied by a series of short films related to human rights. Attendees will also be invited to sign petitions, write letters and enlist in Amnesty International campaigns in support of human rights. The winner of the 1977 Nobel Peace Prize, Amnesty International has 1.8 million members worldwide International Human Rights Day is marked around the world each year on December 10.
