Israel's Beaufort fails to win Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film

Despite the hopes of some, Israeli film Beaufort did not win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in the 80th Academy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday overnight. The award went to The Counterfeiters from Austria. In interviews over the past week from Los Angeles, Beaufort director Joseph Cedar downplayed the chances his film would walk away with an Oscar. "I'm happy just to have been nominated. I'm not even thinking about winning," he told reporters. David Brinn contributed to this report.
