Jerusalem Film Festival to open soon

The festival, will be held at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and other theaters around the city, features more than 200 films from 45 countries.

The 25th Jerusalem Film Festival is set to open on July 10 with the animated film WALL*E at a festive screening at the Sultan's Pool Amphitheater. The festival, which runs until July 19 at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and other theaters around the city, features more than 200 films from 45 countries and 100 guests, including actor John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich); producer Mike Medavoy (producer and studio executive responsible for such films as Silence of the Lambs, Annie Hall and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest); and director Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart). The Wolgin Awards Competition for Israeli film will feature four new feature films and 11 documentaries. There will be several master classes with guests that will be open to the public, plus pitching sessions for aspiring filmmakers with representatives of international television networks. Parents will be glad to hear that for the first time ever, the festival will include a program of films for children from July 14-16.
