Channel 10 reporter Yinon Magal has been chosen to co-anchor Channel 1's prime-time news program, Mabat, along with Geula Even. The two will fill the void left by longtime presenter Haim Yavin's retirement. Magal was picked after a pilot he filmed in December received the best viewer reactions in test screenings.
