Joseph Cedar’s Footnote and Nadav Lapid’s Policeman will be shown at the New York Film Festival, which will be held from September 30-October 16.
Cedar’s movie, which tells the story of the rivalry between father-and-son Talmud professors in Jerusalem, won the Best Screenplay Prize at the Cannes film festival earlier this year.
Policeman is about policemen in an anti-terrorist unit and the political activists they are tracking. It won the Van Leer Award for Best First/Second Feature at the Jerusalem Film Festival this summer.
They will be shown alongside the latest films by Pedro Almodovar, Roman Polanski, Wim Wenders and Martin Scorsese, among others.
