For International Women's Day - Thursday, March 8 - Tel Aviv's restaurants and bars will unite in offering some spectacular drink and food specials - for ladies only, of course! The place to be, if you're of the female persuasion, is the Mary Bistro Bar (Rehov Lilienblum 1, (03) 510-0989), where the entire menu will be 50% off from breakfast to dinner, including soft drinks and alcohol. Pasta Mia (Rehov Yehuda Halevy 52, (03) 566-9967) is offering a bottomless glass of Blue Nun wine for female patrons with the order of a full-course meal. Continuing with the wine theme, though celebrating on Wednesday March 7, Benjamin Seigal (Opera Tower on Herbert Samuel, (03) 516-6224) is hosting Orna Shilag of the Shilag boutique winery. Set to begin at 8 p.m., Shilag will be presenting tastings of her wine, along with explanations of each, which will also be available at a specially reduced price. Exceptional music is par for the course when it comes to such an evening. As such, DJ Mika will be spinning jazz and other music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Meatbar (Sderot Chen 52, (03) 695-6276) is treating female diners to a complimentary glass of wine with the order of either the sinta or entrecote steak. If it is Indian and champagne that you crave, Indira (Rehov Shaul Hamelech 4, (03) 695-4437) will serve a glass of bubbly with a full-course meal. However, if it is Ethiopian that does it for you, then Hevesh (Rehov Allenby 2, 077-210-0181) is pampering female guests with a one-plus-one special. A number of establishments have settled on the buy-one-get-one-free approach, including Ingrid (Rehov Hamasger 9, (03) 688-0222) which, from 8 p.m., will offer the deal on a selection of designer cocktails. Shaked (Rehov Hashmonaim 90, (03) 561-0546), a seafood restaurant established in 1964, has a selection of champagne-based cocktails at two for NIS 30. And the Layla Dance Bar (Rehov Ben Yehuda 77, (03) 522-1156) is offering free entrance until 11 p.m. and two-for-one glasses of champagne for NIS 38 - all night long.
