Black Rebel Motorcycle Club rolls into Israel

Following the release of their latest ablbum, alternative indie-rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is playing one show at Tel Aviv's Barby Club, as part of a current European tour. So leave your apartment, brave the cold or enjoy the unseasonable warmth, whichever it shall be, and go see the group that Oasis' Noel Gallagher once called his favorite. The band is best known for its full-on rock and roll without pretension, loud, psychedelic-blues and, of course, guitar heavy sound. All this comes across clearly in Baby 81; their fourth and most recent album release. BRMC is most often compared to the Jesus and Mary Chain, a group that they list as one of their major influences along with The Verve and Led Zeppelin. The group, named for the biker gang headed by Marlon Brando in the 1953 classic The Wild One, comes across as probably one of the best college/garage bands that you might hear. Their first two albums, the self-titled B.R.M.C. and Take Them on, on Your Own, released in 2001 and 2003 respectively, were both recognized for such uniformity of sound. Only Howl, their third album released in 2005, was a major departure from their tested formula with the band offering up an acoustic, Americana sound that played tribute to the Beat poet traditions of their native San Francisco.
