Israel will get a chance to feel that heat when Burton performs three concerts here this month. On Tuesday November 22 Burton plays Kibbutz Lotem's Coffee House Restaurant at 9:30 PM, or you can catch him at two additional shows at
Herzliya's Camelot Club on Wednesday November 23. Doors open at 8 PM for the first show and at 10:45 PM for the second.
At his performances, Burton will be joined by Erez Bar Navi, a homegrown tenor saxophone player. The organist and drummer are also Israeli.
Burton, of New York, attended
Hartford's Hartt School of Music where he studied with Michael Carvin and Jackie McLean. After graduation, he joined Arthur Taylor's jazz band the Wailers. In 1994, Burton formed his own band and released "Closest to the Sun", touring all over Europe and performing at important Jazz festivals.
