The much-anticipated September performance by Paul McCartney in Israel has apparently been iced, the business paper Globes has reported. Negotiations had been under way between producer Dudu Zerzevsky and McCartney's management to bring the former Beatle for one show at Hayarkon Park or Ramat Gan Stadium. No reason was given for the show's falling through, and Zerzevsky declined to comment.
Perhaps one reason is that instead of rehearsing, McCartney has spent the last few weeks traveling along historic Route 66 in the US with his girlfriend, Long Island socialite Nancy Shevell. The couple has been spotted at camp sites, gas stations and motels along the sprawling highway, leaving bystanders at convenience stores scratching their heads at having encountered the living legend.
