Private Kabbala bash only for the young The Kabbalah Centre is having a party, and - just to be clear - you're not invited. The Centre announced last week that "youth" visiting Israel this month for the organization's Rosh Hashana travel and study program have organized a post-holiday party in Jaffa to celebrate the new year, with musical guests to feature local musicians including guitarist and singer Ovadia Hamama and DJ Solly Noama, a performer at venues including HaOman 17. The event, planned for September 16 under the name "Idrahjaffa Moon Party," is open only to invited guests and to Kabbalah Centre students between the ages of 21 and 35. Of the most famous Kabbalah Centre devotees announced last month as taking part on the Rosh Hashana visit - Madonna, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Donna Karan - only Kutcher falls within the required age range for the party. (He's 29; Moore, his wife, is 44.) Age, fortunately, really is nothing but a number for the Kabbalah Centre - or at least for its celebrity disciples. Asked whether Madonna and friends might take part in the youth-oriented late-night party, a spokesperson for the center said, "It's impossible to know." The singer is expected to arrive in Israel by private jet for the Jewish New Year next week. Nathan Burstein The return of Dalaras George Dalaras, better known simply as Dalaras, is coming to Israel for two performances, one on September 24 in Tel Aviv and the other September 27 in Caesaria. The beloved singer is one of the most renowned celebrities in Greece and has earned an international reputation for his music. Since the 1970s, Dalaras has recorded more than 120 records. He has sung numerous different Greek music styles (e.g. rebetiko, laïkó, Latin, pop), Israeli and Arabic music, and religious music. This visit will mark his fifth time in Israel. He hasn't been here for eight years. This time he plans to bring 10 musicians and two guest singers with him. Tickets cost NIS 199-379 and can be purchased through Castel by calling 03-604-5000.
