Looking for something a little different to do this Rosh Hashana weekend? If you want to get out of town and you also love to rock, then the Steps to the Garden of Eden Guitar Lovers' Festival might be just the ticket. Scheduled from September 13 to 15 at the Shaharut Inn, a rustic desert tour center just north of Eilat, the brand-new festival features performances by well-known guitarists and singers like David Broza, Ronit Shahar, Danny Sanderson, Dana Berger, Yermi Kaplan, Dudi Levy and more. The festival is also a place for learning the guitar, with multiple workshops scheduled during the day, including offerings from popular guitarists like Ya Ya from Hadag Nahash and Amit Carmeli from Shotei Hanevuah. Additional activities include a guitar-trading flea-market, instrument-repair sessions and career-advice workshops for the budding professional. The festival costs NIS 250 for two nights, or NIS 150 for one (children under 13 can attend for free). Tickets can be ordered at (03) 613-3416 or (03) 575-7656.
