Legendary reggae band Steel Pulse will be performing for the first time in Israel on July 23 and 24 at the Barbie Club in Tel Aviv.
The 10-piece British-based band of socially conscious Rastafarians is celebrating 30 years together and over 20 albums, highlighted by their acclaimed 1978 debut Handsworth Revolution and their 1987 Grammy winner Babylon the Bandit. Led by singer/guitarist David Hinds, the band aligned itself with the punk movement in the late 1970s and was among the initiators of the Rock Against Racism movement. While Steel Pulse's music has moved away from its protest roots to a more commercial sound, the band remains one of reggae's most vital touring acts.
