US musician cancels Tel Aviv show due to prior commitments to shoot movie, Channel 2 reports.

Lenny Kravitz has decided to cancel his performance in Israel due to prior commitments, Channel 2 News reported Tuesday evening.The veteran American musician was set to sign off the summer in style with his Israel debut on October 6 in Tel Aviv.Kravitz cancelled the show because of prior commitments to shoot a movie, according to Channel 2.Kravitz has also cancelled other European tour dates including in Kiev, Bucharest, Zagreb and Istanbul, the report said.The Jerusalem Post could not independently confirm the veracity of this reportAccording to the singer's website on Tuesday evening, tickets were still available for all the European dates. However, the option to buy tickets for the Tel Aviv show had been removed.The eclectic classic rocker has sold over 35 million albums since his sparkling 1989 debut Let Love Rule.The four-time Grammy winner has successfully combined hard rock, soul, funk and the guitar sounds of Prince, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles into a name-that-source musical goulash. He’s been on a roll, with his 2008 album It is Time For a Love Revolution marking his highest ever debut on the album charts and his 2011 release Black and White America also being well received, including the singer opening up stadium shows for U2.Kravitz is the son of the late actress Roxie Roker and Jewish NBC News producer Sy Kravitz, and describes himself as “half Jewish, half black.”He was married to actress Lisa Bonet.David Brinn contributed to this report
