6.2 quake rocks the South Pacific near Fiji

BANGKOK  — A 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck in the South Pacific off the coast of Fiji on Tuesday.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage after the quake hit at 1613 GMT (12:13 p.m. EDT) Tuesday.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered 90 miles (145 kilometers) northeast of Lambasa on the island of Vanua Levu at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). Vanua Levu is the second largest of the Fijian islands.
