6.3 magnitude quake shakes eastern Indonesia

JAKARTA, Indonesia — A strong offshore earthquake has shaken parts of eastern Indonesia on Friday.
The country's geophysics agency says no tsunami warning was issued after Friday's quake, which struck off the Maluku islands, and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.The US Geological Survey put the preliminary magnitude of the quake at 6.3.
The temblor struck 145 miles (235 kilometers) from the town of Ternate and 90 miles (144 kilometers) beneath the ocean floor.
