7 arrested in e. Jerusalem for throwing stones in Silwan

Israel Police on Sunday announced the arrests of seven Arab residents of East Jerusalem, three of them minors, who are accused of attacking border police officers and throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails during clashes in Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood.
The seven men were brought before the Jerusalem District Court for a hearing on Sunday, where their remand was extended until the end of legal proceedings in the case.
Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that the seven men were arrested over the past two weeks based on evidence gathered in ongoing investigations being carried out in the area. Rosenfeld said that the seven suspects were involved in the throwing of Molotov cocktails and rocks at the “Jonathan House” compound in Silwan and that all seven have confessed to the charges.
He added that there are still a number of ongoing investigations being carried out against suspects believed to be responsible for violent clashes that have roiled the neighborhood over the past year.
