7 students arrested in anti-stipend-bill protests

Seven students were arrested Wednesday after blocking a highway in Beersheba in protest of a bill that would give millions of shekels in stipends to yeshiva students.
Hundreds of students protested across the country, at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan and Ben-Gurion University in Beersheba. Students also protested at the Tel Hai college, near Kiryat Shmona.
The students said the bill is discriminating and demanded that the stipends for yeshiva students be canceled.
