Australia appeals ban on extradition of WWII suspect

ADELAIDE, Australia   — The Australian government has appealed a court ruling barring the extradition of a man wanted in his native Hungary in connection with the murder of a Jewish teenager during World War II.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Home Affairs says the federal government lodged the appeal Tuesday in Perth.
Hungary claims 89-year-old Charles Zentai is a Nazi collaborator who was involved in the torture and killing of the teenager in Budapest in 1944.
