Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon met Wednesday with Michał Tomasz Kamiński, chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists Political Group in the European Parliament.
The two discussed various issues, including European-Israeli cooperation, the Middle East and Iran. Both Ayalon and Kamiński agreed that the Iranian nuclear issue was the greatest test for the international community since the end of the Second World War.
Ayalon called on Europe to press the Iranians.
"So far the dilemma has been placed on the international community by Iran. The international community needs to turn the tables and place the dilemma on Iran. This can only happen with strong sanctions," said Ayalon. "The next few weeks are crucial in the regard."
