Chance of frost worries Gaza Agriculture Ministry

The Ministry of Agriculture in the Gaza Strip warned farmers on Tuesday of a potential frost Tuesday overnight throughout the Palestinian Territories and Israel, Hamas affiliate Al Resalah reported.
Earlier, Jordan's Al Rai newspaper also reported the Jordanian Ministry making the same statement to that country's farmers.
Frost can cause great damage to crops in developing countries without adequate preparation.
The Gazan Minsitry of Agriculture informed the area's farmers on ways to reduce frost damage to their crops, including adding extra soil to insulate their root system.
Palestinian farmers began their export season to European markets on Sunday. In total, farmers in the area will export around 150 tons of cherry tomatoes, 50 tons of peppers, 1000 tons of strawberries and 20 million carnations.
