US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in her speech at the AIPAC convention Monday that ensuring the security of Israel strengthens US security.
"In addition to threatening Israel, a nuclear-armed Iran would embolden its terrorist clientele and would spark an arms race that could destabilize the region. This is unacceptable. Unacceptable to the United States, unacceptable to Israel and unacceptable to the region and the international community," Clinton's prepared statement read.
The US is seeking sanctions "that will bite" against Iran, Clinton assured her listeners, though they are taking time to come into effect.
