Clinton to Peres: Obama looking forward to meeting with you

President Shimon Peres met with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington Monday, one of several meetings he is expected to hold with top US officials during his visit.

Before the meeting, Clinton told Peres that it was a great honor to receive him in Washington. She added that US President Barack Obama was looking forward to meeting with him and hearing his views on the changes taking place in the Middle East.

On a softer note, Clinton told Peres that he is the youngest 88-year-old that she knows.

Joining the exchange of pleasantries, the president told the US secretary of state that in Israel, the name "Hillary Clinton" is one of true friendship that operates under difficult conditions with wisdom, creativity, and security, and without giving up or throwing up one's arms when reality is too difficult to bear.
