Clinton: US to donate $15 million to preserve Auschwitz site

The US will donate $15 million to preserve the site of the remains of the Auschwitz-Berkenau concentration camp, said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday in a speech at the Schindler Factory Museum in Krakow, Poland, CNN reported.  The donation must first receive the approval of the US Congress, Clinton added.
If approved, the funding would be given over a five year period beginning in 2012.
The US State Department said that they are encouraged that other nations will issue similar donations to preserve the site for the education of future generations.
