The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the appeal of the woman who separated her two children, aged 5 and 7, from their father. The judge restated the verdict, which called on the mother to return the children to her former partner in Sweden by December 22. The woman had immigrate to Sweden about 20 years ago. She met the children's father, a Swedish citizen, twelve years later. The kids were born and raised in Sweden. In 2009, the couple lived with the children in Israel, but the father returned to his workplace in Sweden in April. The mother, who had agreed to join him with the children at the end of the school year, announced several months ago that she did not intend to leave the country. The court ruled that the mother had planned to emigrate from Sweden to Israel permanently and had made arrangement to do so without informing her partner or taking him into account. According to the verdict, the mother had unlawfully removed the children from their home country and violated their father's right to custody.
