Court rejects Lador's petition against Olmert libel suit

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Sunday rejected State Prosecutor Moshe Lador's petition which called to reject a libel suit filed against him by former prime minister Ehud Olmert. The claims related to comments Lador made about Olmert in an interview published February in Haaretz.

In the ruling Judge Riba Niv wrote that the petition was rejected because it was based on factual claims alongside legal issues, which demands evidence and a factual decision.

Olmert’s lawyers had filed a defamation lawsuit against Lador and Haaretz, asking for NIS 150,000 in damages.
