Danny Ayalon blames Assad for Syrian border deaths

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon stated on his Facebook page that Syrian President Bashar Assad and his government are responsible for the unrest on the Israeli-Syrian border.

"Assad is using Palestinians in Syria as cannon fodder in order to divert attention from the carnage that he is reaping on his people. Responsibility for everything that takes place on the Golan border is Assad's and the Syrian Government's," Ayalon posted on his Facebook page.

Troves of Syrian "Naksa Day" protesters tried to breach the Israeli border near the villages of Kuneitra and Majd al-Shams. Twenty-three protesters were killed attempting to cross into Israel since Sunday.
