Despite UNHRC vote, Ayal

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon expressed hope Sunday that Russia could still be counted on as a partner in matters related to Iran's nuclear aspirations, despite Moscow's UNHRC vote in favor of endorsing the Goldstone Commission Report. Speaking to Israel Radio, Ayalon said, however, that the vote did not strengthen Moscow's position as a mediator for peace. He stated that Israel was taking the issue up with Moscow in a controlled and constructive manner, while also lobbying for support among what he termed the "serious" countries.
