Disabled Israelis rally in Jerusalem for higher pensions

Dozens of disabled Israelis held a rally outside of the Social Affairs Ministry in Jerusalem on Tuesday, demanding that the government raise the monthly disability stipend from NIS 2,100 to the minimum wage of NIS 3,850 per month.
A report published by the Justice Ministry last November on the well-being Israel's disabled found that the number of disabled people and the gaps separating them from non-disabled Israelis have not lessened, in spite of widespread government and non-governmental efforts.
The report details a litany of economic and emotional hardships faced by the more than one-and-a-half million disabled people in Israel, the majority of whom are women.
