Education officials arrested, suspected of taking bribes

Police arrested two senior Education Ministry officials Tuesday on suspicion of having received bribes from the head of a Jerusalem educational institution and a teacher there.
In return for the bribes, which police suspect have been going on for months, the ministry officials falsified data about the number of special needs students to raise the school budget.
The officials admitted to the suspicions against them.
The officials and the teacher were released on bail. The police were set to ask the Jerusalem Magistrate Court to extend the remand of the school's head, according to Israel Radio.
