'Egged workers embezzled over NIS 1.5m. in travel expenses'

The manager of Egged Taavura's Jerusalem offices, who was arrested along with his secretary and five additional employees on suspicion of embezzling more than NIS 1.5 million from the transportation company, had his remand extended by an additional two days at the Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspects were detained after the Egged Taavura company filed a complaint with Jerusalem police regarding suspicions that all seven had filed fraudulent travel expense receipts over the last two months and pocketed the money they received in return.
The employees and the secretary have been placed under house arrest until Friday, and the police investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
