Egypt arrests former housing minister Soliman

CAIRO - Egyptian authorities arrested on Wednesday Ibrahim Soliman, who when housing minister was responsible for several controversial contracts with real estate developers, a security source said.
He is the second former housing minister to be arrested in connection with deals approved while in office.
The other, Ahmed el-Maghrabi, is facing trial for profiteering when concluding a sale contract for a plot of state land before the buyer had fully paid for it.
Maghrabi is accused of having improperly arranged the sale of the land in Sixth of October near Cairo and its later transfer to real estate firm Palm Hills Development via a foreign company specially set up to conclude the deal.
