Egypt to reopen Rafah crossing after Id al-Adha closure

Egypt announced that it had finished preparations for opening the border crossing with Gaza at Rafah on Thursday, and would allow a number of Gazan residents to exit and pilgrims on the Haj to Mecca to return, the Ma'an News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Egypt had closed the Rafah border crossing since last Saturday due to Id al-Adha, the report said.
In addition to allowing travelers through the border, Egyptian authorities will also supervise the transfer of two tons of medical aid "as a gift from the Tunisian people to the Palestinians" in the Gaza Strip, according to Ma'an.
