Egyptian security forces raid Iran news bureau in Cairo

The director of the Cairo offices of Iran's Al-Alam Arabic-language news channel announced he will enter an open-ended hunger strike to protest the storming of his bureau's offices by Egyptian security forces on Sunday.
The Egyptian authorities lacked the proper licenses to raid his bureau, Ahmed Seyoufi claimed according to Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram's website.
"From tomorrow we will enter an open-ended hunger strike until the end of this crises, because this crisis constitutes and assault on freedom and human rights," Seyoufi announced on Al-Alam, according to the Egyptian report.
Seyoufi slammed the Egyptian authorities, saying his offices were effectively being gagged despite veracious coverage ahead of the upcoming Egyptian presidential elections, which begin on May 23.
