El Al chief denies pursuing political career

El Al CEO Eliezer Shkedy and opposition leader Tzipi Livni denied reports on Sunday that Shkedy was en route to her Kadima Party.
Livni’s associates said that while she had met with Shkedy, they did not discuss politics and she was unaware of his political views. Shkedy told a monthly meeting of El Al staffers on Sunday that he intended to remain with the company.
A former head of the IAF, Shkedy said he would continue to meet with Israeli leaders to advise them on security issues.
But government officials expressed concern on Sunday that Shkedy would use El Al to advance himself politically and his meetings with Jewish and Christian Evangelical leaders to aid his future political fundraising.
