Environmental Ministry checking chemical plants in Center

Environmental Protection Ministry on Sunday teams were conducting examinations on 22 factories that contain hazardous materials and are in close proximity to populated areas throughout the Center and in Tel Aviv, the ministry announced Sunday. The list of factories that are being examined was provided by the IDF's Home Front Command.

The new checks follow a thorough examination of plants close to the Gaza border in the South on Thursday, after which, improperly stored hazardous materials were transported to other regions deemed safer.
