Ethics C'tee rejects complaint against MK Horowitz

The Knesset Ethics Committee rejected on Wednesday a complaint by MK Miri Regev (Likud) that MK Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) stood by while housing protesters "physically and verbally attacked" her.
"As I visited the tents…water was poured on me and people cursed at me and made obscene gestures," Regev wrote to the committee. "Horowitz witnessed the events, watched them from the side, and not only did he not help me, he made no effort to speak to the attackers and ask them to stop their shameful behavior."
Horowitz asked the committee to reject her complaint, because she called a press release to announce her complaint and threaten that Horowitz would be punished. In addition, he called the complaint "petty and nagging," and said he had no connection to her attackers.
The Ethics Committee acquiesced to Horowitz's request, because it has the right to reject complaints that have been discussed in the media. In addition, they found that Horowitz did not commit any ethics violations.
