Ethics C'tee to discuss claims tourism minister a drunk

The Knesset Ethics Committee will have to discuss a report that Tourism Minister Stas Miseznikov regularly gets drunk, goes to strip clubs and misses important cabinet meetings committee chairman Yitzhak Vaknin (Shas) said on Tuesday.

"If it turns out that this is true, the most we can do is strongly censure him, because he committed ethics violations," Vaknin told Army Radio. "I have said many times before that the Ethics Committee needs to have more teeth in certain cases."

The Shas MK called Miseznikov's alleged habits "insulting and harmful."

"If I was the minister's bodyguard and had to enter a strip club, what would I do as a religious person? Enter or not?" Vaknin asked.
