Family of Canadian MP on 'Estelle' ship demand his release

The family of Jim Manly, a 79-year-old former Canadian MP, demanded his "release" from Israeli custody on Tuesday after his arrest for attempting to break the Israeli maritime blockade on Gaza last Saturday.
In a statement to the press, the family of Manly requested the Canadian Ambassador to Israel to "seek [his] immediate release from Israeli detention."
The statement concluded: "My father must be released from detention immediately and put on the first plane available back to Canada."
Manly was part of a crew of international and Israeli activists on the Finnish-flagged "Estelle" flotilla attempting to reach Gaza. The ship was redirected and towed to the port of Ashkelon.
