Father of NYC airport terror suspect headed to US court

The father of an airport driver accused oftrying to cook up bombs made from beauty supplies for an attack on NewYork City was charged Monday with trying to get rid of chemicals andother evidence.

FBI agents arrested Mohammed Wali Zazi on Mondaymorning on the new charges at his home in a Denver suburb after aprevious charge, lying to the government, was dropped. He had been outon bail.

A new indictment unsealed in federal court in Brooklynaccused Zazi of conspiring with others to destroy or hide "glasses,masks, liquid chemicals and containers" that were evidence in a foiledterrorism plot.

At a brief court appearance in Denver on Monday,a judge ordered the transfer of Zazi — father of terrorism suspectNajibullah Zazi — to New York for a detention hearing on an unspecifieddate. He was to remain in federal custody until then.
