FIFA to help Al Jazeera track World Cup broadcast disruptors

FIFA, soccer’s governing body, will help Al Jazeera television locate those responsible for interfering with the channel’s coverage of the World Cup, Businessweek reported Sunday
Al Jazeera Sport, which has exclusive World Cup transmission rights for the entire Middle East and North Africa region, experienced transmission disruptions from unknown sources during the June 11 opening soccer match and some subsequent games, Qatari newspaper The Peninsula reported earlier on Sunday.
Al Jazeera tended to suspect Egyptian rival Nilesat or Egyptian authorities.
Soccer fans throughout the Arab world, already angered at the exorbitant rates Al Jazeera Sport had decided to charge its viewers for watching the World Cup, were sorely disappointed when the broadcasts were disrupted.
