Fighting rages at Sanaa airport

SANAA - Fighting is ongoing near Sanaa airport in Yemen and the facility may be closed, tribal leader Sadiq al-Ahmar told broadcaster Al Jazeera TV on Thursday.
Government officials had told Reuters the airport was briefly shut due to the clashes but had reopened.
Ahmar called on Arab states to pressure President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down, adding mediation had ceased for ending clashes in the capital, which started on Monday after Saleh refused to sign a deal that would end his nearly 33-year rule.
