FM official: Russians keen on presidential visit to Israel

On the heels of Russian President-elect's Vladimir Putin's victory, a Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday that the Russians have expressed interest in a presidential visit, to compensate for the one that didn't take place in January 2011.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had been set to visit Israel last year, but the trip was canceled due to a Foreign Ministry workers' strike. Instead, Medvedev visited the West Bank town of Jericho as well as Jordan.
The matter has been on the agenda for a number of months and there is interest on both sides, however as of yet no date has been set.
