Former Bank Hapoalim chairman pleads guilty to fraud, will pay NIS 1 million fine

Former Bank Hapoalim chairman Danny Dankner struck a plea bargain with prosecutors on Thursday.
Dankner pled guilty to fraud and improper conduct. In exchange, prosecutors dropped charges of money laundering and other offenses.
As part of the deal, Dankner agreed to pay a fine of NIS 1 million. Despite the plea bargain, prosecutors will seek jail time for Dankner next month, when Tel Aviv District Court hears arguments from both sides in the sentencing phase.
