Former Gaza Division commander Brig.-Gen. Moshe 'Chico' Tamir was set to appeal a military court decision on Wednesday, which demoted him to the rank of colonel for permitting his underage son to drive an IDF dune buggy and attempting to cover-up a subsequent accident.
The hearing will be held at a military appeals court at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv.
Tamir, who has had an exemplary combat career in the Golani Brigade, served as commander of the Gaza Division until several months before January's Operation Cast Lead, whose success he was credited for even though he was no longer in an active position in the division.
