Former Shin Bet head: Murderers can be released for Schalit

Former head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) Yaakov Perry on Monday said "it is possible to release murders as well" in a prisoner swap for the release of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.
Perry spoke at a press conference held by former officials in the defense establishment who expressed their support for the release of Schalit who has been held captive by Hamas for 1,751 days.
"The state of Israel is strong enough, in terms of its intelligence and military might, to take care of the 'murders with blood on their hands,' as they are called, if they so to happen return to terror activities," Perry said.
Other officials participating in the press conference included former heads of the Shin Bet Ami Ayalon and Karmi Gilon, former head of the Mossad Danny Yatom and former IDF chief of General Staff Amnon Lipkin Shahak.
