Former Supreme Court president: Beinisch term was difficult

Former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak said Sunday that the term of outgoing Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch was the most difficult since the establishment of the institution.
In an interview with Army Radio, Barak said: "Beinisch's position and role were attacked, this time not from the left or right margins, but from the center, by former Justice Minister Daniel Friedman, who said that the Supreme Court is a branch of Meretz."
Earlier this month, Beinisch said that her relationship with Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman and his predecessor Daniel Friedman were "normal," Army Radio reported. Speaking with reporters prior to her retirement, she said: "No-one should that the Friedman period was ideal. I do not miss him, but we worked together."
