French ambassador: Zeitouni suspects will be imprisoned

France’s ambassador to Israel, Christophe Bigot on Thursday assured the family of hit-and-run victim Lee Zeitouni that the two suspects will be tried in court and sent to jail.

The ambassador said he visited the family of the late Zeitouni, who was killed in a car accident by French citizens, and said: "My heart is with them, it's a real tragedy, but unfortunately, according to French law, we can not extradite French citizens [to Israel]. However, we have laws that can try them [in court] and send them to jail."

Lee Zeitouni was killed last September in a hit-and-run accident committed by two French nationals.
